  비 오는 날이 싫다. 지하철(혹은 버스)에서 옆사람이 들고 올라탄 우산이 내 팔다리를 축축하게 휘감는 게 싫고, 운동화가 젖는 게 싫고, 바짓단이 젖는 게 싫고, 끈적거리는 공기가 싫다. 그런 이유로 비가 오면 오만가지 짜증을 다 내는 나인데, 오늘은 이상하게 기분이 좋다. 이런 날에는 일회용 우산을 들고 무릎까지 오는 장화를 신고 물웅덩이에서 뛰놀아 주어야 한다. 실현이 요원한 소망이었으므로 잠자코 버스에 올라탔다. 장애인용 버스에서는 석유 냄새 비스무리한 새 버스 냄새가 코를 찔렀다. 멀미에 시달리다가 두 정거장 전에 내려 버렸다. 물웅덩이를 찰박이며 돌아다니지는 못하더라도, 비 냄새를 맡으며 음악을 들을 수는 있다.
